How to post an optimized content in your blog

Tip #1 – Define Your Focus Keyword

Before writing an article we must define what is the “FOCUS KEYWORD” of that specific article. The focus keyword should be the main topic of the article. So make sure that we each of the articles that we publish has a focus keyword. A focus keyword can be one word two words or a phrase. It depends on what is the main topic of the content or what is the target keyword that we want to rank for.

Tip#2- Keyword Placement

This is very important and it must be consistent across all articles that you publish. Your focus keyword should be in the Title, Meta Title, Body of the content, Meta Description. It is essential that your focus keyword is visible in those sections of the page.

Character / Words Count Limits

  • Title/Meta Title: 70 Character Max

  • Meta Description: 160 Character Max

  • Body of Content: At least 300 words article

Note: Ideal keyword placement in the body of the articles is at the first Paragraph and in the end of the article or the last paragraph of the article.

Tip#3 – Keyword Density

Mention your focus keyword at least twice in the body of the article. Don’t mention the focus keyword more that three times in the article because that would be spammy for the search engines. Son the optimum and safest keyword density is a minimum of 2 mentions a max of 3.

Note: Be sure to sound natural when you mention your focus keyword and should not be redundant/forced.

If your focus keyword is generic and you don’t have a right landing page for it go search for authoritative wikipedia sites that has more details and definition about your focus keyword and link your focus keyword to that site/page.

Monogram Earrings should be link to http://www.alisonandivy.com/monogram-earrings.html and Monogram Earrings should be bolded for it to be highlighted.

Focus keyword: Jewelry Gold Plating

I would link it to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_plating

Tip#5 – Utilize Headings and Media for Optimum Content Structure

Make sure our articles doesn’t look like a block of words. The ideal content structure is having section titles for each paragraph to clarify the thought/message of the article. Utilizing headers like <h2>HEADING 2</h2>, <h3>HEADING 3</h3> as section titles is great for search engines and keywords placement.

Using Images to illustrate or explain more further the message and thought of the article is also a must. So as much as possible put at least one image to each of your articles.

Tip#6 – Article Categorization

Next after you’ve written and posted the article that has all Tips 1 – 4 you must categorize the article to it’s correct category. Remember to optimize the category page and it must be related to the article.

Tip#7 – Checklist Before Publishing or Schedule the Article

Before hitting the publish button or even before you schedule the article to be publish, go through tips 1 – 5 checklist and make sure that all of the mentions tips are applied. If yes, then proceed in publishing/scheduling your article.
